Toys for Tots 2024
Toys for Tots 2024
Time flies down in paradise and here we are again approaching the Holiday Season. For many years now the kids of the Papagayo area have enjoyed the fruits of your philanthropic spirit. We have been able to give out countless toys and bring immeasurable joy thanks to your generosity. We could not have brought so much Christmas cheer without the help of those who donate toys, time or money to this worthwhile effort.
Unfortunately this year is going to be a little different…. The Papagayo area just experienced a 100 year rain event with the remnants of a Hurricane, a tropical storm and several tropical depressions all coming together at the same time to produce flooding conditions that many have never seen in their lifetime.
Many families lost their entire home, appliances, clothing and what few personal items they had. There are efforts ongoing to provide people with shelter, food and the basics to get themselves back on their feet.
And of course the kids have nothing. No toys, bikes, balls, dolls, nothing. So this years’ Toys for Tots drive is especially important. The toy they get this year might be the only thing they receive for Christmas.
So please dig deep and find it in your heart to help out this year. It will truly make a difference.
We have once again teamed up with the Guanacaste Veterans Association. You can drop off new and UNWRAPPED toys in one of our Tres Amigos Realty office locations – Playa Hermosa or Playas del Coco.
If you want us to buy toys on your behalf, I will personally be doing a toy run to purchase as many toys as is humanly possible. Please send donations to PayPal or Zelle: michael@tanktopsflipflops.com. Please make sure you put ‘Toys for Tots’ in the payment description.
Another popular options for giving is to have your property manager in Costa Rica send your donation directly. If you want to donate this way please have your property manager contact me directly to coordinate the best way.
I want to thank everyone who finds it in their heart to help a kid get through what will be a tough Holiday Season.
Pura Vida,
Michael Simons
