The Yearly Property Tax on a $200,000 property is $500. The calculation is .025% of the assessed value.

Hola, Remax Mike,
I still love reading your newsletters, especially the one about your newest addition to your pack! Really liked the pics of your home.
We are coming to Coco Beach in the near future for a 3 month stay.. As you know, I have a 9 month old Yorkie, Mattie Marie and know the requirements to enter CR. My question is what is required to exit CR? I know you fly with Millie from time to time so I am looking for someone who has done it.

We are talking about living in Costa Rica in the near future, but my main concerns are the various pensions, annuities, and Social Security I have directly deposited in my bank account. Can that be arranged at a local bank there?

David, it is actually quite easy and I will gladly email you some thoughts. The best bank in Costa Rica is BCT bank.

Truthfully, I don’t think you can retire here at the beach on $1200 if you have to rent.
In my opinion, you would need a minimum of $2000.

Hello Michael,
Can you add support for 8 high school students in Altos Los Robles? I have been raising money and providing support for kids to attend the high school in Sardinal. Last year there were 9 kids that needed uniforms, shoes, books, and backpacks. The average costs per student was about $200.00 per student.
Thank you, Barbara Tors

Hi Michael,
Was considering relocating to Costa Rica, however vaccine passport is a deal breaker. Natural Immunity trumps any vaccine.
Can you add any clarification to this presidential edict that begins in December.

Hola Michael…been a while…
Just spotted and read your Dear Dad’s obit. What a great guy! Your Dad was fifteen years younger than my Dad, Jack, who passed in early 1997 at the age of (almost) 79. His Dad and Grandfather were also Pharmacists, and Jack also attended Culver Military Academy for his later High School years. Then Cumberland College in his hometown of Williamsburg, Ky.as a freshman and sophomore, then two years at UK. Then two + years at Dupont Chemical in West Virginia as an Accountant before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in February, 1942.
So sorry for your loss. Keep up the good work in CR!
Michael D.
